I remember latkes. As many as I ate, I ought to! I remember chopped liver, the real kind and a veggie version, composed mostly of mashed potatoes and garlic, which Ankita described as very hummus-y.
I remember more snacks, beverages, dreidels, jokes and a gift exchange that went fractal very quickly in some way involving the rules about gift-givers and options to poach others’ gifts that was really hard to keep close track of.
I remember feeling very lucky to be in the room, and feeling as if it was getting harder and harder to hold the holiday season at arms’ length. Huh. :)
