Feast and fam (ii)
We gathered upstairs, a few dozen of us, to hear what Steve Buttry and Jim Brady had to say about our futures, our jobs and how they thought we ought to approach both of them. We listened, but we also asked a fair number of questions — perhaps fewer than got asked the day before in San Jose, by at least one or two accounts. Whether that was a function of more practical and immediate concerns, or just lesser levels of theoretical curiosities remains to be seen.
Later came the potluck, with tray after tray next to a table conveniently adjoining my cubicle wall.
