Uptown serendipity
I didn’t plan to run into Zennie Abraham tonight, but it couldn’t be helped. :) Ankita wanted to grab something to eat, and there was Rudy’s Can’t Fail Cafe, so we wound up meeting there. Suddenly, I looked over in a far booth and there he was.
Uptown Oakland works best for me when it just seems to make things like that happen. I still smile about running into Juba Kalamka outside Rudy’s and the Fox Oakland earlier this year (and then getting drive-by cruised for weed by some randopedestrian). I couldn’t even be surprised at going out walking with Melissa a couple of weeks ago and running into Mauricio and Alison on their way somewhere.
