It’s a Model 1412 solid body electric guitar made in Japan by Teisco in mid- to late 1970 or early 1971 and imported to the U.S. for sale at Sears Roebuck & Co. It has two single-coil pickups with separate switches, a sweep design headstock with a ‘Space Dot’ logo and a hinge-and-spring whammy bar. I found it Saturday at Acme House of Music, a small shop a few blocks east of 35th Avenue on MacArthur Boulevard in Oakland’s Laurel District. The shop owner said he thought it had spent a couple of years hanging around in-store since arriving via eBay. Its last human’s name may have been Carl Reynolds, as that’s what’s scratched into the pick guard in cursive. Its current human’s name is George. – View on Path.
